Now about Saturday...

I’m not one to throw stones at mobs of people I don’t know, but I’m a little sick of hearing people worry about this whole “Rapture” thing. Now, I’ve only read through about fifty articles on both sides of the spectrum and have lived through the other supposed “death days” of the world, but I’m pretty damn sure we will all be waking up on Sunday like nothing was supposed to happen. I’ve seen an article in which a pastor denies the day because the Bible says the date of the Rapture is to be unknown. So this means that the event cannot be figured out for no one is supposed to know ahead of time. Which means unless we are in the event, no one will know when to cower and beg for forgiveness or whatever it is people will do in that situation.

From what I have seen, this Camping guy has been wrong before. I feel bad for this one family I read about; they stopped working a year ago to spend time with their child and planned to spend all their money by Saturday. What are they going to do when nothing happens? I can only feel bad for people who are doing things like this, what will happen when nothing happens? Do they expect the already hurting economy to find a way through the government to help them? I hope there is some way that they can get by without effecting everyone else, for their sake.

I may be just a normal non-religious person, but I still get annoyed when people manipulate a book meant to guide others. If a passage is meant to be applied to X, and used with S, the original meaning is lost and looked down upon by those who deny it. Layer this event with years of such and you get a book that means something completely different from its original print. It would be almost like someone told you that apple now meant rape, and you would be punished for saying it. The fruit would be renamed heart-fruit and you are required to call it that. After a few generations, no one remembers the original meaning to the word, and it is lost.

That is my two-cents on the whole deal. I’m making plans for Sunday, and will have to return to my job on Monday and nothing will be different. And life will go on. People will panic again next year and we’ll see how that also will pass with no issue. Because I read something truthful the other day: “If the Mayans could see the future, why couldn’t they see the Spanish coming?”
